PANDEMIA ANTIDEMOCRÁTICA: A COVID-19 SOB A ÓTICA DA NECROPOLÍTICA À BRASILEIRA

Abstract

Since the period of colonization of the Brazilian State, the rise of a certain class of the population occurred through slavery, and to the detriment of the less favored, at the time, Indians and blacks, had their bodies objectified, their liberties usurped, being, therefore, the target of exploration. Such historical factors have built, and still, have a decisive influence on the socioeconomic status of minority groups; Even institutionalized racism itself is a reflection of that hostile past, and today, as one of the great consequences, it presents the inequality faced by the black population; which, in the current scenario, experiences an exposure of greater vulnerability in the health crisis faced by Brazil, a fact that reaffirms the low access to social policies, among them, access to the public health system and health care. Thus, from the perspective of institutionalized Necropolitics, where the State determines the importance of each life and, noting that the COVID-19 pandemic opened up the current legitimation of the death policy, it is intended to conceptualize these institutes, to demonstrate that the historical construction of the Brazilian state is closely linked to the methodology of the Necropolitics, and the domain over black bodies, in order to understand the death relationships that mobilize the black population at the time of the pandemic.
